Celtica French Bakery brings authentic French breads and pastries, fine coffees, small plate items and more to the Lakeview neighborhood of New Orleans. Defined by traditional French standards of high-quality ingredients and artisan baking methods, Celtica French Bakery is an ode to the neighborhood boulangeries of France and their importance in the local community. Headed by French pastry chef Dominique Rizzo and managed by business partner Sirlei Guidry, Celtica French Bakery is more than just a bakery and coffee shop – it’s a way of life. All paths in Lakeview lead to Celtica French Bakery, the neighborhood go-to for a meeting place, a morning coffee run, a quick lunch or an afternoon treat.
For more than 20 years, Chef Dominique Rizzo has been integral in elevating the local standard in New Orleans for French breads and fine pastries. A native of France, Chef Dominique began his culinary training at age 15 and refined his skills under the tutelage of some of France’s finest chefs at Le Miraville in Paris and the Hotel de Paris in Monaco. After a successful stint at Le Cirque in New York City and heading up the kitchen at Le Meridien of Boston's Le Julien, Chef Dominique relocated to New Orleans. In 2000 he founded the original La Boulangerie neighborhood bakery and pastry shop on Magazine Street, a popular fixture in Uptown New Orleans now owned by Link Restaurant Group. Chef Dominique is now inspired to bring his vision of the bakery as a neighborhood fixture and cultural anchor to the Lakeview community.
